Due to the forecast of inclement weather for the originally scheduled July 5th celebration, the Barnesville Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks is now being held on Saturday, July 11, 2026. While the date has changed, the excitement has only grown! We invite residents and visitors to join us at Barnesville Memorial Park as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, delicious food, community fun, and a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the evening.
The celebration begins with FREE swimming at the Barnesville Memorial Park Pool from Noon to 6:00 PM, offering the perfect way to cool off on a summer afternoon.
Baseball fans can enjoy the 8U Pinto Baseball Tournament, taking place throughout the day on the park ballfields. Stop by to cheer on our young athletes while enjoying your favorite items from the Barnesville Park concession stand.
Participate in our Old-Fashioned Family Games, beginning with Corn Hole at 2:30 PM in the grassy area between the basketball courts and the baseball fields. Additional games include sack races, tug of war, egg and spoon races, and a water balloon toss. Winners of each event will receive a FREE Dairy Queen cone coupon.
Visitors can enjoy delicious food throughout the day from several local vendors, including Cowgirl Country Fixins, DiRusso’s Food Trailer, Shamrock Tropical Snow, Refugee Church (FREE popcorn), and the Barnesville Park Concession Stand.
The entertainment continues at the park amphitheater with an afternoon and evening of live music featuring:
- The Leftovers Band – 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM
- The Two of Us – 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
- The Wild ‘n Blue Band – 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
While you’re visiting, be sure to enjoy everything Barnesville Memorial Park has to offer. Take a relaxing walk around the scenic Rotary Lake trail, spend some time fishing, let the kids explore the playground, enjoy a game of basketball or pickleball, or simply unwind on one of the covered porch swings while taking in the beauty of one of Barnesville’s favorite gathering places.
As the sun sets, the celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk, launched from Barnesville Airport. Barnesville Memorial Park offers the best viewing location for the show. For everyone’s safety, spectators are not permitted at Barnesville Airport or along the airport access road during the fireworks display, and parking along Fairview Road is prohibited.
The annual fireworks display is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors and community donations. Those wishing to help continue this cherished tradition may send contributions by making checks payable to “Fireworks Fund” and mailing them to:
