A new ordinance has been passed by Barnesville Village Council that allows for the legal operation of Golf Carts, Under-Speed Vehicles, Low-Speed Vehicles, Utility Vehicles, and Mini-Trucks on public roadways within the Village of Barnesville.
Important Requirements:
- All vehicles must be inspected by the Barnesville Police Department prior to operation on village roadways.
- Operators must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Drivers and passengers are required to adhere to all Ohio traffic laws and the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Barnesville.
Speed Limit Restrictions:
- These vehicles may not be operated on any public roadway where the posted speed limit exceeds 35 miles per hour.
- They may cross intersections of streets or highways where the posted speed limit is greater than 35 mph.
Inspection Details:
- Inspection Fee: $50
- Inspections are required to obtain a title and license for the vehicle.
- The inspection ensures compliance with both Ohio state laws and Barnesville ordinances.
