Upcoming Barnesville America 250 Events

There is so much happening in Barnesville as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday! The Barnesville America-250 Ohio Committee has been working hard to plan a variety of events and activities for our community, with many of the festivities centered around the Independence Day holiday.

Hosted by the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce

Join us from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the West Main Street Parking Lot for an evening full of family fun!

๐Ÿก America-250 Business & Home Decorating Contest
Don’t forget! Entries must be decorated and in place by Wednesday, July 1, with judging taking place on Thursday, July 2. Winners will be announced on Sunday, July 5. To register, contact the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce at 740-425-4300.

๐ŸŽจ America-250 Community Mural Unveiling
Also on Wednesday, July 1 at 4:00 PM, the community will unveil the beautiful “Community Love” mural in the West Main Street Parking Lot. The 8′ x 8′ mural is made up of 350 individually painted tiles, each created by members of our community, coming together as one incredible piece of art that represents the spirit and unity of Barnesville.

๐ŸŽ‰ Freedom Parade
Sunday, July 5, 2026
๐Ÿ•‘ Parade begins at 2:00 PM
๐Ÿ“ Lineup starts at 1:30 PM at the Barnesville Depot.

The parade will travel up North Arch Street through downtown, turn right onto North Broadway Street, then right onto West Church Street before ending back at the depot.

Kids are encouraged to participate! Decorate your bikes, scooters, and wagons and join in the fun. (All bike and scooter riders must wear helmets.) Decorated golf carts are also welcome!

๐Ÿ† Prize money will be awarded for the Best Decorated entries (ages 12 and under), with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. Show off your American pride in red, white, and blue! Refreshments will be served following the parade at the depot, courtesy of Main Street Barnesville.

The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display launched from Barnesville Airport, with Barnesville Memorial Park serving as the best viewing location.

Please remember:
๐Ÿšซ No spectators are permitted at Barnesville Airport or along the airport access road during the fireworks display.
๐Ÿšซ Parking is prohibited along Fairview Road.

Join us at 6:00 PM at Veterans Plaza for a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. In the event of rain, the program will be moved to the Council Chambers inside the Municipal Building.

Come celebrate our nation’s history and hear the words that helped shape our democracy.
