A semi-truck carrying hazardous materials has overturned at the Fairview exit, resulting in a complete closure of I-70. Due to the potential for explosion and a possible evacuation order in Fairview, the meeting will not proceed as planned.
A notice will be posted on the door of the venue informing the public of the cancelation.

Public Hearing Notice: Waterline Extension Project for Hendrysburg, Fairview & Mt. Olivett Road
Belmont County and the Village of Fairview, in Guernsey County, intend to apply for funding through the Ohio Department of Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Residential Public Infrastructure Grant Program (RPIG). This federal program supports public infrastructure projects such as waterline construction. The proposed project would extend the Village of Barnesville’s public water system to Hendrysburg and Mt. Olivett Road in Belmont County, and to the Village of Fairview in Guernsey County.
Each community may be eligible to receive up to $750,000 in FY 2025 CDBG RPIG funds, contingent upon meeting program requirements.
This meeting was to be the first of two public hearings, intended to inform citizens about the CDBG program’s goals, eligibility criteria, and potential impacts, as well as to gather community feedback.
Citizens from Hendrysburg, Mt. Olivett Road, Fairview, and surrounding areas are encouraged to attend a rescheduled hearing, which will be announced soon.
